As an Army veteran, I'm passionate about the Armed Forces and have given a number of talks on domestic abuse to service personnel from the Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and Royal Marines. I have also been approached by civilian domestic abuse charities, for advice on referals they've received, involving service personnel.
For those of you out there that are doing great work helping sufferers and survivors of domestic abuse, please keep in mind that victims within the services face some unique challenges that you may not have come across before.
