If you see or hear any person, group or charity using this phrase, “women comprise the "overwhelming" majority of victims of domestic abuse”. Please be sure to email, tweet or post the attached letter on their thread. Why is this important?
The U.K Statistics Authority ruled in 2009 and again in 2019, that women were not the "overwhelming" majority of victims and that men made up a "significant" number of domestic abuse victims.
Whilst DABS fully support female victims, we must challenge this deliberately misleading language, in order to create a level playing field for all sufferers and survivors of domestic abuse.
